Case study: Artist website with a print shop

Case Study: Artist website with eCommerce

How I helped Eibhilin to take control of her site and sell her work online

Eibhilin Crosson creates beautiful contemporary artworks inspired by nature. But her site wasn’t showing off her work properly. When we first met, Eibhilin explained that the site had been created for her by a designer. She was frustrated at being unable to make changes to the site herself. The designer she had worked with was so busy that it sometimes took weeks to reply to emails even for minor edits. So Eibhilin was left with a site that wasn’t quite right and impossible to edit.

It turned out that the site was a customised WordPress theme that was outdated and not displaying properly on small screens (like mobiles and tablets). So a decision had to be made, try to fix the out of date site or start from scratch to create a site that Eibhilin would be proud to show off and edit easily herself.

Eibhilin decided to ditch the broken site and make a new one with me! I reckon it shows off her fabulous work really well.

A website that works

“I was totally overwhelmed with my workload and needed a website that worked for me. I found Claire super easy to work with. She has a very relaxed, kind and witty personality and is extremely easy to talk to. She was keen to find out exactly what look I wanted for my site leaving no stone un-turned. As a result of her hard work and patience, I have the site I dreamed of!”

Eibhilin really wanted to start selling prints of her work, so we added a shop and integrated a simple payment system.

Independence

“Claire made sure that I can continue to edit and update my site by walking me through each step. I found this so helpful as otherwise, I would not have a clue what to do! Claire also recorded part of the process for me which I can access any time. This has been a lifesaver!”

When you’re learning a new tool, it’s great to have a guide to refer to. I always create mini tutorial videos for my clients to refer back to.

Moving your business forward

“I’m thrilled with my website and I feel I have made a jump to the next level in my business, with Claire’s help.”

Fun not frustrating

“Working with Claire was a great experience. I learnt a huge amount and also enjoyed spending time with her. What Claire offers is unique in that she wants to simplify the process for her clients, cut through the jargon and help them run their own websites and businesses more effectively.

Her easy going personality, charm and good humour make her a very likeable and effective teacher.

Rather than Claire creating a site for me, I felt we were working together, to build the site, and that made the sessions exciting and rewarding. I will definitely book more sessions with Claire in the future. Now that my shiny new website is up and running, I am looking forward to working with Claire on other aspects of my online business!”
