SEO: The one thing you need to understand before investing your time and money!
Let’s have a quick talk about SEO, shall we?
It’s essentially the first question that I get asked in all of my new client meetings and I always say the same thing:
SEO is indirect.
SEO is the activity where you put words, phrases and sentences onto your website, so when somebody searching on Google will actually find you. It’s indirect because you are putting something out there and hoping to be found.
If you really want to have a strategy that gets you in front of people, you are going to use a direct strategy.
The one thing I wanted you to know about SEO is that its indirect and that means you’re not going to the people, you’re waiting for them to come to you, help you be found and be visible online.
If you are waiting for people to find you or you’re putting something out there hoping for people to find you, you’re going to be waiting a long time. The effort you put in SEO today might pay off in six months. I emphasize MIGHT pay off. If you really want to get the strategy together to get in front of people effectively and quickly, choose a direct route.
At the end, there are few key points you need to understand regarding SEO:
- Consider SEO as an investment – it will eventually pay off but it takes time
- Don’t wait for the clients to approach you, take the first step
- Go direct if you need clients fast.
