Planning a launch for your online business

Planning a launch for your online business

During the launch period, you are extremely busy, you’ve got a lot of things to do and every single day is jam-packed with preparations. Maybe you’re launching a site for the first time, you could be launching your entire business or you could be just adding new stuff to your business. Whatever it is, it takes a little bit of planning and here are four things you should consider:

  1. Attention
  2. Clarity
  3. Action
  4. Observation

Attention

You have to figure out how you are going to get people’s attention? How are you going to get their eyeballs on your brand new website or new offering?

Clarity

The next one is clarity. When you do get somebody’s attention, is it clear what you’re offering? This is something I talk about all the time, but especially during a launch period where people might be experiencing or encountering you for the first time?

Clarity is really important, so if you can be crystal clear on what you’re talking about and what you’re offering, people can see that it’s for them or not.

Action

When somebody encounters you online or during the launch period, what actions do you want them to take? Do you want them to get in touch with you, subscribe, buy or share?

Whatever that is it has to be easy and obvious for people to do. So that’s the action, or often called “call to action”. Just consider it as the action you want them to take.

Observe

The last thing I want you to look at is how you can observe what’s happening.

I use a lot of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) methodology. So observing how your launch is going, being able to access information – like how many people are clicking on things, how many people are actually buying?

Looking at what that means, so are your actions leading to conversions? Are your videos being watched, are they being shared? Be aware of what’s going on, how people actually interact with your launch material!

Bonus tip – Deadline

Another one that I didn’t list is Deadline. If you are launching you should be working towards a very specific date and time.

Launching takes a lot of work. I very regularly help people to launch and re-launch their websites online. If you need help, if you are going crazy trying to get in front of people, do get in touch with me – I know a lot about this stuff and I’m very happy to help.
