ProEnglish
Language coach website.
Reaching a new audience with clear messaging, specific services and effective call to action.

The Brief:
Improve the functionality of the ProEnglish website and make it visible to a more targeted audience.
Background:
Vera, the site owner, has been teaching English for many years, often creating tailored plans for each client who came her way. The website targeted many different target audiences with many different packages. Vera wished to simplify her offering and reach a specific audience who wanted to reach a high level of competence and confidence in English for corporate level roles.
The Old Site
The ProEnglish site was already up and running with visual branding. What we needed to work on was simplifying it so that it had a clear path to action.
A number of different tools had been added and there were numerous marketing strategies running. This meant that the site was leading visitors in too many different directions. There was so much valuable content and information that it was confusing the site visitor. Also, the number of tools in place was causing problems with the site loading properly.
The website before the redesign:

The Antidote to Shiny Idea Syndrome

Why you need to do a crap first draft!
The pressure to produce valuable content can sometimes hinder our ability to publish anything at all. This dilemma showed up the other day when I was drawing with my son. Let's talk about the crappy first draft. https://youtu.be/Moh1WMyKSFU The Crappy First Draft The...
Is your service easy to sell?
I've whittled my services aaaaaaaaallll the way down over the years. When I started out I had a laundry list of services on my site and couldn't seem to get a handle on my marketing. Why? Because I was writing a CV not a strategic marketing plan. When I worked in...
Out of Office Visibility: Create a Summer Content Bank

Converting readers into clients: Your content has 3 jobs.
It feels like slogging away at social media, is part of the deal when you have a business. You pour your heart into value based posts, only to see measly results. It can be pretty annoying when you invest a tonne of time and energy into stuff when it feels like nobody...
Posting every day: An experiment
I recently ran an experiment based on advice from Gary Vee. He suggests posting up to 12 times a day in order to use social media for your business. (Check out my original post here) When I spoke about this concept on my own channels, it sparked quite a debate and...
You can now add 5 links in your bio… but should you?
Instagram's new 5-link feature: A blessing or a curse for small business owners? How excited are we about the new Instagram feature that allows each account to have up to 5 links in bio? It's starting to feel like more of a second website, than a social platform. We...
Gary Vee’s $0 social media strategy.
Gary Vee (Gary Vaynerchuk) is THE PERSON to listen to when it comes to social media predictions. His predictions for the growth of social media were so on-point that he was able to grow multiple businesses, to (let's say) squillions of dollars and massive online...
People buy from people they know, like and trust.
Marketing is all about getting people to know, like, and trust you. It sounds simple enough, but it can be tough to keep going when there's no way to measure! There's no way you can know how people are feeling about you and your brand, especially as a lot of people...
